Chittorgarh: A sensational incident of stone pelting and fighting between two groups has come to light in a rural area in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. This incident took place late on Tuesday night in Kepahuna village of Kapasan sub-division area. There was an incident of fighting and stone pelting between two groups during a religious procession here. Ten people were injured during this period. Among these, death of a young man has been reported. The District Collector has cited heart attack as the reason behind the death of the youth.

An annual religious procession is taken out from the big temple on Dashami in Pahuna town. Bevans are taken out on the lines of Mahakaal of Ujjain. The procession was touring the town at night. During this time, a group of youth raised objection about taking out the procession, due to which the atmosphere deteriorated. After the situation remained calm for some time, a group of people started pelting stones. After some time the other side also started pelting stones. 8 to 10 people were injured in this stone pelting incident, out of which one youth was seriously injured.

Section 144 imposed in Pahuna, situation tense but peace maintained

The people injured in this incident were taken to Bhilwara for treatment. On receiving the information, District Collector Alok Ranjan, SP Sudhir Joshi, Gangapur Police Vice President Ravindra Pratap Singh, Gangrar Police Station Officer Shyam Bhari also reached the spot with the police force. A large number of police forces were also deployed from Chittorgarh district headquarters. Currently, Section 144 has been imposed in Pahuna and the situation in the town is said to be tense but peaceful.

Death of a young man, collector told that he died due to heart attack

Chittorgarh District Collector Alok Ranjan said that some people were injured in stone pelting. The injured have been discharged after providing first aid. One person suffered head injuries and was sent to Bhilwara but he was also discharged after first aid. Later it was reported that another person was taken to Bhilwara, who has died. But when the case was investigated thoroughly, it was found that he died of a heart attack. The village compounder also checked him on the spot. On the other hand, Chittorgarh SP Sudhir Joshi said that after getting information about the matter, we registered an FIR. So far 16 accused have been arrested in this case.
