Bogotá ∙ Students who were playing Ojo board at a school in Colombia collapsed. 11 students of the Agricultural Technical Institute in Hato collapsed while playing Ojo board. The unconscious children were found by the teachers. International media reported, quoting teachers, that the children were suffering from severe suffocation and foaming at the mouth.
The children, aged between thirteen and seventeen, were found unconscious in the school verandah. Out of these, 5 students were admitted to a hospital in Socorro after their health deteriorated. According to the hospital authorities, the students suffered from vomiting and muscle spasms due to food poisoning. It is reported that after drinking water from the same container, the students started suffering from abdominal pain, muscle cramps, severe vomiting and fainted.
Local media reported that the children were playing the Ojo board on the school verandah and wrote some words and symbols on the board as part of summoning the spirit. There are many rumors about this in the social media. Hato Mayor Jose Pablo Tolosa Rondon denied the claim that the children fainted because of playing the Ojo board. He said that please do not spread scientific baseless claims and the incident will be thoroughly investigated.
