The Minister of Health, Saleh Al-Hasnawi, confirmed today, Sunday, that 15 hospitals and dozens of health and specialized centers will enter service during the next year.
Al-Hasnawi said, in a statement to Al-Iraqiya News, followed by the (INA): “The number of projects completed by the Ministry during the past two years is very large, including the focus of opening modern hospitals, which is represented by 11 hospitals whose capacity ranges from 50 beds to 500 beds,” indicating that “ There are dozens of hospitals and health centers that have been rehabilitated, in addition to the opening of 125 new health centers and two oncology centers in Wasit and Salah al-Din, 3 advanced centers for treating heart diseases and injuries, and 48 primary health care centers and developing them into family medicine.”
He added, “The Ministry also opened more than 100 dialysis centers,” noting that “the health insurance file whose law was activated during the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, through which about a million citizens were registered, half of whom were covered by social care.”
He continued, “For the first time in Iraq, the private sector includes health insurance,” noting that “the Ministry recorded, during the life of the current government and over two years, 120 million visits to all health institutions.”
He continued, “10 new hospitals will open in the first half of next year,” noting that “next year will also witness the completion of the cancer centers project in all governorates.”
He pointed out that “next year will witness the entry into service of 15 hospitals and dozens of health and specialized centers.”
