Chennai: 25 pilgrims from Tamil Nadu, who survived the landslide while on Amarnath Yatra, reached Tamil Nadu safely.

25 people, including nine women from Tuticorin, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur and Nagapattinam districts, went on Amarnath Yatra. After escaping the danger of landslides there, they completed the darshan and reached Chennai early yesterday morning.

Their interview at Chennai airport: 25 people from Tamil Nadu left Chennai on 3rd July and reached Amarnath on 4th. The weather was fine when we visited. From Amarnath, we stayed for the night at Panchadharani, 6 kms ahead. Next morning we visited the Amarnath Banilingam. When we got down after the darshan, it started raining. Hence, it was prohibited to descend from Amarnath.

After four hours the rain stopped and they allowed us to come down. Again, there was heavy rain on 6th and 7th. As a result, the entire area where we were staying was landslided. There, all the security arrangements were done very well. A soldier stood 10 feet away and sent the pilgrims in line.

There is no security breach; The army did a very good job of security. We have returned to Tamil Nadu safely after the darshan. Thanks to the army for sending us safely, they said.
