The Coast Guard has rescued 6 crew members from a shipwreck in the Arabian Sea around 3am today.
The MSV Malabar Light cargo ship sailed from Pappur in Kerala to Andhra Pradesh in Lakshadweep last night. The ship was loaded with construction materials, livestock, and cows. But after traveling 8 miles from Beypore beach, water reportedly leaked into the engine room at midnight due to a technical glitch. The crew was shocked when the entire ship began to sink and immediately sent information to the Maritime Rescue Center.
As the ship sank en masse before the rescue squad arrived, crew boarded the lifeboat and began to fight for their lives in the Mediterranean. The Indian Coast Guard intercept boat C-404 rescued crew members stranded in the Mediterranean around 3 am today. The Coast Guard said all crew members were taken aboard and given first aid and that all crews were in good health. The Coast Guard has shared a video of rescue crew aboard a lifeboat in the Mediterranean on its official Twitter page.
