7.2 Magnitude Earthquake Hits China and Delhi in January 2024

New Delhi: After the 7.2 Richter magnitude earthquake in China, the capital Delhi was also hit by an earthquake.

A 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck the southern part of China’s Xinjiang at 11 p.m. However, no information about the damage was released. After China, the earthquake was felt around midnight in capital Delhi and areas around Delhi. The National Seismological Center reported that the earthquake struck at a depth of 80 kilometers.

Following the 6.1 magnitude earthquake in Afghanistan on January 11, mild tremors were felt in Delhi and NCR. The earthquake was also felt in Pakistan. Then yesterday morning (Jan. 22) there was an earthquake in the mountainous region of southwest China. It is noteworthy that more than 200 people were evacuated from the area.
