Chennai: Due to an electrical accident, Jan. From March to March, 97 people were killed.

The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board supplies power with the help of devices such as transformer cable poles and ‘pillar boxes’. No one other than the electrical staff is allowed to touch the devices as there is always electricity in the devices. In the current Jan. From March 31 alone, 97 people have been killed in power outages; 61 people were injured. In addition, 28 cattle, including cows, were killed. The Electrical Board has therefore directed the Supervising Engineers to train the staff on how to safely repair electrical equipment one day in a month in each Divisional Office to prevent electrical accident.

It is also advised to provide safety equipment such as helmet shoe rubber glove belts and to create awareness among the public about the need not to start cutting power cord.
