KIGALI, Rwanda, March 17, 2026 — Doja Cat is bringing her signature energy to Africa. The Grammy award-winning superstar will headline Move Afrika 2026, a live music tour focused on opportunity and creativity, with stops in Kigali, Rwanda, and Pretoria, South Africa.
Doja Cat’s Historic African Debut
For the first time in her career, Doja Cat will perform in Africa as part of Move Afrika. This collaboration marks her third partnership with Global Citizen and holds special significance as it connects her to her South African heritage.

Move Afrika, now in its third year, is designed to place African cities firmly on the global touring map. The tour returned to Kigali, Rwanda, and is expanding to South Africa, connecting global artists with local talent, production crews, and audiences.

Move Afrika prioritizes local participation, with over 90% of crew and production roles filled by local hires in previous editions. The initiative has already generated more than 2,500 job opportunities, sourcing most equipment and services from within host countries. What began in Kigali in 2023 is steadily growing into a multi-city touring circuit that reached Lagos in 2025 with a sold-out edition.
A Broader Impact: Health and Social Priorities
Move Afrika also connects live music with crucial social priorities, focusing on supporting strong and well-financed health systems, with a particular emphasis on primary care, sexual and reproductive health, and access to quality health services.
