BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has condemned and protested the attack on the public signature program at Khamarbari in the capital.
In a statement on Monday (February 19) night, the BNP Secretary General said that after the January 7 dummy election, the Awami League and its affiliated organizations have made the country ‘Jor Jaar Muluk Tar’.
He said, it seems that they have attacked like-minded parties including BNP with the vow of violent attack and loss of life. We saw the manifestation of it today in the barbaric attack on the public signature program of civic unity in Khamarbari.
The general secretary of BNP said that the general people of the country are spending their days in fear and deep anxiety due to the reckless attack of A.League terrorists. Common people cannot find shelter anywhere to escape from the hands of Awami terrorists. Law, administration is not able to protect people. People are living as diaspora in their own country.
Mirza Fakhrul said, on the one hand, poor people are seeing darkness due to the extreme increase in the price of food products. On the other hand, people are in a deep crisis due to the rising prices of gas, electricity and fresh water. Moreover, the people are now disoriented by the violence of the terrorists. With the help of the law and order forces, the terrorists of A.League are roaming around the country. Even today, the police looked on during the attack of the Awami student organization on the program of civic unity. They have made the country de-democratic to establish the reign of thuggery. People’s freedom of expression has been taken away by the force of state muscle. However, the illegitimate Awami ruling group will soon have to bow down to the power of the people.
In the statement, BNP Secretary General Shakib called for the arrest and exemplary punishment of the terrorists who attacked Anwar. He also wished the speedy recovery of Shakib Anwar who was injured by terrorists.
