A woman named Anwara (40) died after falling from the roof of a 10-storey building in Malibagh area of Shahjahanpur police station of the capital. He is the assistant police commissioner of DB police in Mirpur zone. Tariqul worked as a maid in Islam’s house.
This incident happened on Monday (February 19) at around 11 o’clock. The doctor on duty declared the maid dead at around 12:30 p.m.
Shahjahanpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sujit Kumar Saha confirmed the matter.
He said, we went to the spot after getting the information around 11 o’clock. After taking him to Dhaka Medical, the doctor declared him dead after examination.
Sujit Kumar Saha said that she came to DB Assistant Commissioner of Police Tariqul Islam’s house 15-16 months ago to work as a domestic worker. We can see in the CCTV footage that he was walking on the roof of the 10th floor in the morning. After a while he was not seen again. We think he accidentally fell down.
OC said Assistant Police Commissioner Tariqul Islam is on operation outside Dhaka. We informed him about it. The body of the maid is currently kept in the hospital’s emergency department morgue. His house is in Brahmanbaria district.
