Today, Wednesday, Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, chaired a meeting of the Ministerial Council for National Security to discuss the security situation on the border strip between Iraq and Turkey.
The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasul Abdullah, said in a statement – received by the (INA): “The Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, chaired a meeting of the Ministerial Council for National Security, during which a discussion took place.” “The latest developments in the situation and challenges in the regional environment and their impact and repercussions on Iraq, especially the events taking place in Lebanon and Palestine.”
The statement added, “The meeting witnessed a discussion of the security situation on the border strip between Iraq and Turkey and ways to enhance security understandings between the two countries.”
The statement continued, “The issues on the meeting’s agenda were discussed and the necessary decisions were taken in their regard, in a manner consistent with the requirements of the country’s public interest.”
