/ Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul Ghani, stressed on Wednesday the importance of cooperation with international companies and countries in the region in implementing investment projects to develop the oil, gas and renewable energy sector in Iraq.
This came during his meeting with a group of heads of Iranian companies, according to what the Iraqi Oil Ministry announced in a statement today.
The statement quoted Abdul Ghani as saying that Iraq has invited specialized international companies to participate and contribute to the development of the oil and gas industry by participating in the oil and gas licensing rounds, including the fifth round and the sixth round, to develop oil and gas fields and sites in a number of Iraq’s governorates, which include promising and important opportunities. .
The Minister pointed out the support and support of the government and the ministry for these strategic projects, providing facilities and an appropriate investment environment due to their importance in developing the oil industry, and enhancing joint cooperation with companies specialized in the investment and sustainable development sector.
Abdul Ghani praised the development witnessed in bilateral relations between the two countries, and their keenness to enhance the prospects for joint cooperation in the oil and energy sector, pointing out the importance of forming joint committees in specialized sectors, including gas, exploration, drilling, pipelines, training, joint fields, renewable energy, and liquidation. , infrastructure and others, welcoming Iranian companies to implement projects in the oil and energy sector.
The meeting was attended by a number of officials in the Iranian Oil Ministry, members of the Iraqi delegation accompanying the minister, in addition to the Iraqi ambassador to Iran.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil met with Zaidi Far, Assistant Minister of Oil for Engineering Affairs and Research in Oil Technologies, and opportunities for joint cooperation between the two countries in the oil and energy sector were discussed.
Abdul Ghani held a meeting yesterday, Wednesday, with his Iranian counterpart, Jawad Oji, and it was agreed to form specialized committees to enhance and expand opportunities for joint cooperation, including a committee to develop the common border fields between the two sides, in accordance with international contexts and norms that guarantee the rights of each party, and a committee for joint cooperation in the field of investment. Gas gathering, petrochemical and renewable energy industries.
The agreement also included the formation of a Refinery Rehabilitation and Development Committee, and a Joint Training and Development Committee, in addition to work and cooperation in the fields of oil marketing, drilling, supply of pipelines and reserve materials, oil exploration, and others.
The joint meeting also included the signing of a memorandum of joint cooperation in the field of training and development, which was signed by the Undersecretary for Extraction Affairs, Bassem Muhammad Khudair, with his Iranian counterpart.
