A patriot who gets excited when he hears patriotism; Rabindran in Mein Hum Musa

A soldier who was thought dead by the locals and his family returns after 19 years. Director Jibu Jacob came up with a very different idea. The coming of Suresh Gopi as an ordinary Muslim from Malappuram was also a novelty for the audience.

DSC Officer Ravindran, played by Major Ravi, is the prominent character in the film. He is a retired soldier and an ardent patriot. Musa returned to India after spending 19 years in a Pakistani jail.

Musa narrates the miseries he went through when he reached Rabindran’s office. In spite of all these miseries, Musa speaks passionately about the patriotism that surges from his thumb when he hears the name Hindustan. Major Ravi’s Rabindran is more excited than Musa when he talks about patriotism. This is also evident from the expressions on Major Ravi’s face.

Rabindran, who is thrilled to see the patriot in Musa, later suspects that he is a spy. After telling all those doubts to his colleagues, Ravindran praises Musa endlessly saying that he should have received the recognition otherwise.

Major Ravi repeats the same mannerisms as in his previous films in Mein Hum Musa. Major Ravi, who came as a retired soldier, speaks dialogues mixed with English and Malayalam in the film.

Suresh Gopi gave an excellent performance as Malappuram Muslim. At the same time, the rape joke and Islamophobic dialogues in the film are being criticized.
