The “stupid accident” thesis is becoming clearer. While the 19-year-old victim is still between life and death, we know more about the circumstances of the serious accident in the parking lot of a nightclub, Friday morning in Chilly-Mazarin (Essonne). With a first confirmation: it was indeed from the hood of the vehicle that two young women fell onto the asphalt. Video surveillance cameras validated the statements of the various witnesses. It was around 5 o’clock, at the exit of the Pablo club where a Caribbean evening was organized on Thursday evening.
Two nightclub customers (19 and 23 years old) got into the BMW of a young man, an acquaintance, to have fun. The 24-year-old driver then accelerated then braked suddenly on the icy road, causing the two women to fall. The 23-year-old got up with a minor wound on her head.
The victim in critical condition
The youngest, on the other hand, remained on the ground unconscious. This Monday, “the victim is still in a coma in the hospital. His condition is critical, the vital prognosis remains very serious,” says a person close to the case.
The two victims are from Hauts-de-Seine. The driver lives in Seine-Saint-Denis. His blood alcohol level was 0.1 g per liter of exhaled air at the time of his arrest. Heard by the Longjumeau police officers, the man was then referred to the Évry-Courcouronnes judicial court this Sunday.
He is now “indicted for aggravated involuntary injuries (…) with deliberate violation of an obligation of safety or prudence”, informs the prosecution. A sentence punishable by five years of imprisonment. The young man was released under judicial supervision. It is now an investigating judge who will have to shed light on this game between friends which has degenerated.
