A two-judge bench of the Madras High Court delivered its verdict in the AIADMK general committee case on September 2. It was ordered that the General Assembly held on July 11 will go. Thus it was as if the High Court had given a green signal for the election of Edappadi Palaniswami as the interim General Secretary.

This judgment was a blow to O. Panneer Selvam’s side. While O. Panneer Selvam had said that he would appeal against this, he consulted with legal experts and supporters for three days.

Edappadi Palaniswami’s side filed a caveat as Panneer Selvam’s side will appeal in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court said that if anyone files a case against the General Assembly, they should also ask for an explanation from their side.

The OPS side was expected to file an appeal on Monday. But did not appeal yesterday. Today, O. Panneer Selvam’s side filed an appeal against the High Court order.
