Tense Political Situation in Tamil Nadu: AIADMK Holds Meeting Amidst Chaos

Chennai – As the political turmoil continues in Tamil Nadu, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) is conducting a crucial meeting today in Chennai. The meeting brings together district secretaries, Members of Parliament (MPs), and Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) under the guidance of the party’s general secretary, Palaniswami.

AIADMK general secretary Palaniswami recently visited Delhi on the 14th of this month, accepting the invitation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national leadership. During his visit, he had a significant meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. It is reported that Shah expressed the BJP and National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parties’ desire to contest in approximately 20 constituencies and proposed the inclusion of former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam and AIADMK deputy general secretary TTV Thinakaran in the alliance. However, it appears that Palaniswami did not agree to these conditions.

Meanwhile, when Tamil Nadu BJP president Annamalai criticized Anna, former AIADMK ministers D. Jayakumar, CV Shanmugam, and Sellur Raju strongly opposed his remarks. Jayakumar explicitly stated on the 18th that there is no alliance with the BJP.

In light of the escalating situation, AIADMK MPs and MLAs visited Delhi on the 22nd and met with BJP national president JP Nadda. They insisted on removing Annamalai from his post, but their demand was firmly rejected.

Given this tumultuous environment, AIADMK has organized a consultation meeting today at 3.45 pm at their headquarters in Rayapetta, Chennai. The meeting will be led by General Secretary Palaniswami and will see the participation of District Secretaries, Head Club Secretaries, MPs, and MLAs.

Crucial decisions regarding the Lok Sabha election alliance and the BJP are expected to be taken and announced during this meeting. The outcome of the meeting will have a significant impact on the political landscape in Tamil Nadu.
