Airlangga, said Wijaya, also contributed positively to the victory of Golkar and the elected presidential and vice presidential candidate pair Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
“It must be acknowledged that Airlangga’s influence in building strong consolidation from internal to the lowest levels of society caused a surge in votes for the Golkar Party,” said Wijaya in Jakarta, quoted, Thursday (28/3).
As is known, the Golkar Party was the highest vote-getter in the 2024 elections among the coalition political parties supporting presidential and vice presidential candidates number 2 Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
Golkar only lost to PDIP as the winning party in the Legislative Election (Pileg).
PDIP won 25,377,279 or 16.27 percent of the national vote, while Golkar received 23,208,654 or 15.28 percent of the vote.
