Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities set the date for the complete completion of the Nisour Square project, while indicating that there are new projects that will be announced after the first package projects enter service.

Ministry spokesman, Nabil Al-Saffar, told the (INA): “The Nisour Square project is one of the most important and complex projects of the first package to relieve traffic congestion in the capital, Baghdad, as it includes several sections of work, including the construction of two bridges and three new tunnels.”

Al-Saffar added, “The Nisour Square project is proceeding according to the time plan that was set, which amounts to 550 days, as some parts of this project will be completed in the middle of this year,” stressing that “the completion date for the entire project will be at the end of this year, 2024.”

He pointed out, “New projects will be announced after the first package projects enter service, as the Faiq Hassan Bridge has already been opened, and the Cordoba Bridge will be opened at the beginning of next April, then the rest of the projects will follow in succession.”

He pointed out, “There are projects that have reached very advanced levels of completion, including the Al-Shaljiya Bridge, as well as the bridge in the Army Canal, which connects the interior area to Palestine Street.”
