Lies Twaalfhoven-Pruin from Alkmaar has kudos to Eric, Anneke and Saskia van Aladdin lamps in Alkmaar. More than four years ago she bought a Flos hanging lamp there.
The lamp did not work anymore, although it did not burn out. Something in the mechanics, she suspected. “Although long out of warranty, I asked Aladdin for help and Eric, in the guise of the good spirit, did his best. Flos factory abroad consulted, a rather expensive new element in the lamp as a possible solution? Or a new lamp that Aladdin still had in the warehouse? The choice was not difficult; a new one at almost half the original price! Within a week, Aladdin shone the light again. Kudos for their thinking along!”

Elly Klerk also comes from Alkmaar, who had made a futile attempt to choose two glass tiles for the Great Window of the Big church in Alkmaar. You can donate those glass tiles for 25 euros each. Last year she had also tried, but just like then, the purchase online did not work because it said that the tiles cost 2,500 euros instead of 25.00 euros. After an email about this, she was called by a board member who advanced the purchase of two glass tiles from her own account. That’s how the sale succeeded. One tile now bears the name Elly Klerk, the other is for her deceased brother Daan Klerk, ‘a very sweet Alkmaarder who always liked to visit the Grote Kerk’, says sister. “He will remain in my heart forever and so will the Grote Kerk.” That’s what I call service!
