The production company Alpha Eye Studios Limited has charged the popular small screen actor Ziaul Farooq Apurba with misappropriation of money, breach of contract and schedule cheating.

Apurba signed a contract for 50 lakh taka for acting in 24 dramas of the company. After doing only 9 dramas, he stopped all communication with 33 lakh taka. After that, the production company filed a written complaint to the Television and Digital Program Producers Association of Bangladesh (Telepab) and the actors’ association, Shahriar Karim Bhuiyan (Shahriar Shakeel), the managing director of Alpha Eye, alleging financial loss.

Shakeel complained on March 11. In the complaint brought against Apoorva signed by him, it is said – Alpha Eye Studios Limited (represented by its managing director Shahriar Karim Bhuiyan) and actor Md. A performance agreement was executed between Ziaul Farooq Apurva on 16-10-2022. According to the agreement. Ziaul Farooq Apurba will schedule 3 days every month to Alpha Eye Studios Limited from 1 November 2022 to 31 October 2023 and 2 dramas will be shot on those 3 days. Ziaul Farooq will coordinate beautifully.

According to the above mentioned agreement, Apoorva received a total of 50 lakh taka for acting in 24 plays, 25 lakh taka (50%) on 16.10.2022 and another 8 lakh taka as advance on 9 February and 19 February last year. According to the contract, out of 24 works, 9 works were completed somehow, but the remaining 15 works continued to be delayed in various ways.

After many delays, Apurba gave the shooting schedule from February 19 to February 23 this year. Accordingly, Alpha Eye Studios Ltd completed all the preparations for the shoot. However, Apurba did not come to the shooting on the scheduled date given by him. After that he refrained from all contact. According to the said agreement. Ziaul Farooq Apurba, despite receiving Tk 33 lakh in cash from Alpha Eye Studios Limited, has not acted in 15 plays and refrained from all communication, it is claimed in the complaint that Alpha Eye Studios Limited has suffered huge financial loss and business reputation.

In this situation, the production company sent a legal notice against the actor on March 3 with a time limit of 7 days. But even though time passed, Apurba did not contact. He informed the organization for a solution before the matter went to court.

Television Program Producers Association of Bangladesh (Telepab) General Secretary Saju Muntasir was contacted and said that he received the complaint. In this regard, Saju Muntasir said, ‘We will hold a meeting very soon and call the two parties to know the matter. The matter will be seen organizationally.’

However, Ronak Hasan, General Secretary of the Actors’ Association, expressed his reluctance to comment on this allegation. Apoor did not respond when contacted on his mobile phone to talk about this.
