New Delhi ∙ Union Home Minister Amit Shah has denied the allegation that there is an agreement between BJP and CPM in Kerala. “The allegations against the Chief Minister are in the court. If there is any action from our side you (media) will call it political vendetta. If nothing happens, we will ask why we didn’t do anything” – said Amit Shah in a long interview with Malayalam Manorama and The Week Weekly.

From his responses to various topics in the interview:

∙ BJP will gain in Kerala elections.

∙ Manipur is a tribal problem. Some are portraying it as a communal issue with political goals.

∙ The dedication of the Ram Temple created an atmosphere of devotion in the country, not triumph.

∙ The biggest reform in the last 160 years was the introduction of the Indian ‘Nyaya’ Code. Criticism of the government or rulers is not a crime under the new laws, but sedition cannot be allowed and if there is concern that the law will be misused, then why the courts?

∙ With Modi’s guarantee, the BJP alliance will win better than the last 2 times.
