The Baghdad Anti-Crime Directorate announced today, Friday, the arrest of a suspect accused of stealing 47 million dinars from a store east of the capital.

The directorate stated, in a statement received by the (INA), that “its detachments were able to arrest an accused for stealing a sum of money amounting to (47) million Iraqi dinars from inside a commercial store within the Al-Habibiyah area, east of Baghdad.”
She added, “The arrest took place after information became available to the Al-Habibiyah Anti-Crime Office detachments about one of the shops within the Responsibility Sector being robbed. A work team was formed to follow up on the incident, and after investigating and gathering information and technical efforts, it resulted in finding the accused and arresting him.”
She continued: “The investigative papers were presented to the investigating judge and he decided to arrest him in accordance with the provisions of Article 444 of the Penal Code so that he could receive his just punishment.”
