At the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku, the winners and prize-winners of the 29th Azerbaijan Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship among athletes in the “junior” age category (born in 2009-2010) were awarded, Day.Az reported on Saturday with reference to Trend.

Winners and prize-winners are determined in four types – exercises with ribbon, hoop, clubs and ball.

Sofia Mamedova rose to the highest step of the podium in the hoop program, Sakinakhanym Ismailzadeh took second place, and Shams Agaguseinova took third place.

Shams Agaguseinova won the gold medal in the ball program, Ilakha Bahadirova won the silver medal, and Sofia Mamedova won the bronze medal.

Ilakha Bakhadirova took first place in the exercise with clubs, Govhar Ibragimova took second place, and Sakinakhanim Ismailzade took third place.

Shams Agaguseinova won the gold award for the exercise with a ribbon, Ilakha Bakhadirova won the silver medal, and Fidan Gurbanli won the bronze medal.

Shams Agaguseynova, Sakinakhanim Ismailzade, Sofia Mamedova, Ilaha Bahadirova, Govhar Ibragimova represent the club “Ojag Sport”, Fidan Gurbanly is a student of the “Zirya” cultural center.

The awards to the winners were presented by Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Mariana Vasileva, Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF) Nurlana Mammadzade, coach of the Azerbaijani rhythmic gymnastics team, member of the Technical Committee for Rhythmic Gymnastics of European Gymnastics Evgenia Vilyaeva and AGF manager Elmira Lalayeva.

It should be noted that the competitions of the 29th Azerbaijan Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship are being held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku on March 21-23. Pupils of the “Ojag Sports” club, the Specialized Children and Youth School of the Olympic Reserve in Gymnastics, the Republican Complex Sports School, the “Grasiya” sports club, the “Kur” Olympic Training and Sports Center, the Ganja City Olympic Sports Club, and the “Cultural Center” take part in the competition. Zira” and the Olympic Sports Complex in Sumgayit.

The 29th Azerbaijan Championship is held in three age categories – “pre-juniors” (born in 2011), “juniors” (born in 2009-2010) and “adults” (born in 2008 and older), among athletes performing in individual program. Also participating in the competition are teams in group exercises among “juniors” (born in 2009-2011).
