Houston – An Indian-origin entrepreneur died in a fire in the US. A 32-year-old woman, Tania Batija, died in a fire at her Dix Hills cottage on Long Island, New York. The accident happened on the 14th of this month around 3 am.

The police and fire brigade immediately reached the spot and extinguished the fire, but Tania could not be saved. Suffolk County Police said the fire was not suspicious. Tania’s foster dog also died of burns. Tania’s funeral was held today.

Tania lived in a cottage behind her parents’ house on Carl’s Straight Path. Tania’s father, Govind Bathija, went out for a walk on the morning of the 14th when he saw the fire rising from his daughter’s cottage. He immediately woke up his wife and informed the authorities.
