From today, taxpayers have the option of digitally issuing a Certificate of Debt for the transfer of property due to compelling reasons and for the collection of money.

By decision of the Governor of AADE Giorgos Pitsilis, following the digital issuance of the Certificate of Awareness, taxpayers now also issue the Certificate of Debt digitally, without requiring them to go to the Tax Office.
The automation of the process is estimated to involve more than 300,000 transactions a year and will eliminate a significant part of bureaucratic delays, saving taxpayers time and making it easier for them to collect money and buy and sell real estate.
In particular, the digital Certificate of Debt is granted after submitting an application on the myAADE digital portal, following the path Applications> Tax Services > Awareness > Certificate of Debt.
The application can be submitted by:
– the beneficiary of the payment or transferor of the property or real right,
– the agency or entity that carries out the liquidation or payment to the debtor, for the collection of which proof of awareness is required,
– the notary who carries out the transfer of real estate or the creation of the right in rem.
The digital Certificate of Debt is valid for one month from its issue.
In the event that the conditions for the digital issuance of the Certificate of Debt are not met, the applicant is informed of the reason for the rejection, through the myAADE digital portal, and the certificate is issued by the head of the relevant department.
Those interested can be informed through the Taxpayer Service Center of AADE +30 213 162 1000, on working days and hours 07:30 – 17:00.
