Andy and Lucas are guys who like each other. They always display an enviable good humor, even when life is not always rosy, like when they announced this past Wednesday the dissolution of the duo in ‘El Hormiguero’ due to the latter’s health problems. But that doesn’t mean they don’t have their self-love. The Cádiz singers have expressed their anger at not having been invited to the Latin Grammy party which, to make matters worse, was held in Seville, “100 kilometers from our house.”

“They haven’t been up to par, we deserve recognition,” cries Lucas, visibly upset in his solo recording, which he shared on social media for the group’s fans. Something logical considering that the Andalusian duo has 20 platinum albums, as many as their career years. «I don’t want it to seem like Andy and I are jealous at all. It is a video that I believe is for justice and for the numbers that support us. I don’t care if after this video we receive a lot of criticism or not, because at the end of the day we are going to retire,” explains the singer.

In that sense, Lucas clarifies that they were not asking for any type of recognition or award, because “that is another debate.” What the artist criticizes is that “we have not even been invited to a Latin Grammys dinner”, taking into account that “we are a World Heritage Site in Andalusia.” As it sounds, and never better said.

Un FITUR musical

The singer also blames the fact that “many people who neither sing nor are from the union” attended the gala. His feeling is that they are some garlardons who “are becoming FITUR, to escape from your wife for a few days and have some wines. Furthermore, it seems that categories are invented to reward. Quite a torpedo under the waterline of a contest attended by the most relevant artists of Latin music.

Perhaps the fact that the countdown to his musical career shared with Andy has begun weighs on Lucas’s spirit. «This week, as you well know, we have been on a television program and the greatest reward has been how the public cried with the news. That means we have done something good. The entire audience was crying and applauding. “I’m not crying, but we deserve recognition,” he says with emotion in a video that has provoked all kinds of reactions in favor of his lifelong fans.
