The short animated film “Hadith”, shot at ANIMAFILM Studio, received the Audience Award at the 14th International Animation Film Festival in Paris (piaff, Paris International Animation Film Festival).

As Day.Az reports, the film’s producer Rashid Agamaliev announced this.

The film premiered at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, the world’s largest animation festival. The film received awards at international film festivals in Turkey, Germany, Italy, France, Kazakhstan, Georgia, and Azerbaijan.

The painting “Hadith” is dedicated to the memory of 22-year-old Azerbaijani woman Hadith Najafi and everyone who fights against gender, ethnic and cultural discrimination in Iran. Najafi was killed by Iranian security forces on September 21, 2022 and has become a symbol of Azerbaijani resistance and ethnic struggle in Iran.

The film was directed by Nazrin Agamalieva and produced by Rashid Agamaliev. Lead animator – Andrea Szeleshova, editing – Jorge Sanchez Calderon. The film was voiced by Zohra Karimi, the vocal part in the film is performed by the popular Azerbaijani singer Sevda Alakberzade. The script was written jointly with Ismail Iman and Nazrin Agamalieva, Masoud Panahi became a consultant on the film.

The idea for the film came from the Azerbaijani Cultural Center of Northern California, which also financed the project. The film’s media partners are the Azerbaijan Animation Association, the online animation magazine Skwigly and the Akinchi platform.
