Apple Introduces Red Watch Series 9 in Honor of World HIV Day
In a move to support World HIV Day, Apple has unveiled a vibrant addition to its Watch Series 9 lineup with the introduction of a new red color option. The red aluminum casing with a matching sports strap is a stunning addition to the popular smartwatch, coinciding with World HIV Day.
The Watch Series 9 is powered by the new S9 SiP processor and boasts health, fitness, and safety capabilities, along with the new double-click gesture and Precision Finding feature for iPhone. The new Palette and Solar Analog watch faces are also available in red, joining a collection of watch faces dedicated to celebrating World HIV Day.
(RED) products, including the Watch Series 9, iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 13, and iPhone SE, as well as accessories such as a silicone case with MagSafe feature, are available for order through physical stores and the company’s online store.
Apple has been in partnership with the (RED) organization since 2006 as part of their commitment to support the Global Fund to Fight HIV. Through select in-app purchases, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of (RED) products goes to the Global Fund, with 100 percent of Apple’s contribution being used to finance programs to combat HIV in sub-Saharan Africa.
The introduction of the red Watch Series 9 and other (RED) products further demonstrates Apple’s dedication to supporting the fight against HIV and AIDS, making it easier for customers to contribute to the cause through their purchases.
