On November 30, within the framework of the 30th OSCE ministerial conference in Skopje, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with NATO Secretary General, Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia Xavier Colomina Piris.

During the meeting, issues related to security in the South Caucasus were discussed.

RA Foreign Minister emphasized that RA, reaffirming its strong commitment to establishing stability in the region and despite the existing challenges, which also stem from the ethnic cleansing carried out by Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh, continues its active involvement in agreeing the draft agreement on the regulation of relations with Azerbaijan. Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized that Azerbaijan’s clear, public position on mutual recognition of territorial integrity is necessary. Regarding ensuring the further process of demarcation based on the Alma-Ata Declaration and the most recent, legitimate maps of the USSR.

Referring to the “Crossroads of Peace” program, Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the unequivocal and understandable position of RA regarding the unblocking of all regional channels under the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the countries.

The interlocutors exchanged ideas on the development of the RA-NATO bilateral partnership, including within the framework of the Individually Adapted Partnership Program.
