Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo refused to decide his fate within the Catalan club, with which he has a contract that expires in the summer of 2026.
The Uruguayan international’s name has recently been linked to a number of top European players, led by Bayern Munich, which has been interested in including him for some time at the request of German coach Thomas Tuchel.
During an interview with the DAZN network, Araujo was asked to send a message to Barca fans reassuring them about his future with the team, but Araujo responded to the sudden request, saying: “Everyone knows how very happy I am in Barcelona. This is what I try to show every time I wear this shirt.”
He concluded: “I am happy here, and I will always do my best,” without deciding whether he will continue with Barca for a longer period or not.
The 25-year-old has been active within the Blaugrana ranks since his move to the club in August 2018, coming from the Uruguayan club Boston River.
