At the stop

Dhe week went well. The new Bundestag sat down for the first time, and 736 MPs now represent our interests. With this, Germany outstrips all competitors, except for China. But the people’s congress is in sight, and by the time it is strong, only 2,300 members are missing. It will probably be possible to set this up by the next federal election. Please don’t let anyone get the idea that less is more efficient and, in view of tight budgets, perhaps also easier to convey to the taxable electorate. There is a lot to do. For example, the energy transition wants to be organized.

It is logical that Germany is saying goodbye to oil, gasoline and diesel. Two euros recently showed up at the petrol station for one liter of fuel, which is therefore extremely positive, given that people should drive less. In the midst of the ecstasy of joy, a colleague who is a bit yesterday oriented and still converts tends to burst into moments like this. “At 4 DM per liter, people would be on the street,” he complains.

We don’t think that’s too bad, however, because the Greens had already set 5 DM per liter as a target two and a half decades ago and can now finally keep their promise under government responsibility.

In addition, the escape remains in electricity and gas. Well, the energy supplier canceled the electricity contract four weeks ago and offered a new one with a 30 percent surcharge. The gas contract followed this week, with a 125 percent surcharge. Fortunately, the mean pay raise makes up for that. That is, almost. The rest is done by the competition. Quote from Maingau Energie: “Due to the current development on the energy markets, we currently do not offer gas and electricity tariffs.” 736 MPs, one question: raise or lower taxes?
