Closing of the event in Brasília marks the achievement of 13 medals by athletes from Mato Grosso do Sul

Ending the year with an impressive performance, the athletes from Mato Grosso do Sul who participated in the 2023 Brazilian Taekwondo Cup, hosted in Brasília (DF), shone by winning a total of 13 medals during the tournament. The competition brought together around 1,500 athletes from across the country.
The Goiás Federation was the champion, closely followed by Paraná, São Paulo, Mato Grosso and Rio de Janeiro, demonstrating the diversity and technical quality present at the event.
The delegation from Mato Grosso do Sul could not have started its participation better. On the first day of competitions, the athletes won seven medals, three silver and four bronze. The impressive performance at the start of the 2023 Brazilian Taekwondo Cup already anticipated the success that was to come.
Over the three days of intense competition, the athletes from Mato Grosso do Sul continued to shine. On the second day, two more bronze medals were added to the list of achievements, consolidating the state’s presence among the tournament’s highlights.
On the third day, the Mato Grosso do Sul delegation reached the high point by securing a gold medal, in addition to two silver medals, showing the versatility and talent of the competitors. The individual highlight was Jeferson Glaciel, from Sonora, who won the much-coveted gold medal.
