A new book about the British royals caused a stir. Especially because two explosive names suddenly appeared in the Dutch version. How does the author explain this?

Author Omid Scobie has now offered a new explanation for this. “The only publisher I worked with directly was for the US and UK,” Scobie wrote in an article for the i newspaper. “I spent almost two months with independent UK lawyers and in-house counsel to ensure that every detail in the finished book was legally watertight.”
Without his knowledge, the Dutch publisher was provided with an early and not yet released text so that the translation could begin, Scobie wrote. This was done with the understanding that the finished translation would be adapted so that it corresponds to the final version.
Two names appeared in the Dutch version
Unlike the English edition of “Endgame”, the Dutch version published the names of two royals whom Prince Harry (39) and his wife Duchess Meghan (42) are said to have accused of speculating about the skin color of their unborn children at the time. According to consistent reports in the British media, those named are King Charles III. and Princess Kate. The Dutch book has been recalled. The palace did not comment on the allegations.
When one of the names appeared on social media, he was doing television interviews in New York, Scobie wrote. “My stomach turned.” The reporting in Great Britain then reached a new level of hysteria. Scobie denied it was an advertising campaign. This is an “insulting and ridiculous claim.” At the same time, he accused the royal family of failing to discuss the content – for example, about the fact that the only black family member was not protected.
