“We had a lot of chances. I think we should have taken some chances earlier.”
As reported by İdman.biz, this was stated by Azerbaijani national team player Bahlul Mustafazadeh after the match with Mongolia (1:0) as part of the “FIFA series – Edition 2024” project.
The footballer who scored the only goal in the match emphasized that it was possible to win with a big score:
“We should have used the chances we created more carefully. We could have scored more goals. But sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.”
He stated that the main goal in the upcoming match with the Bulgarian national team is to win and play well:
“I try to score more goals. I work on it in training. But this is football. Sometimes I score a goal, sometimes someone else does.”
The player also answered a question about the vacant position of head coach of the national team. According to him, even if some other specialist comes, he will work in the same situation:
“Arif Asadov is a coach whom we know and have worked with before. We are familiar with his, and he is familiar with our operating principles. He knows us, and we know him well. I cannot comment further on whether the new coach will be local or foreign. Because this is not within my authority.”
