With the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, the 2022 Men’s and Women’s Beach Volleyball Championship of Armenia was held in Yerevan’s “Grand Sport” sports complex, in which 6 men’s and 9 women’s teams from Yerevan and the regions of the Republic of Armenia participated.
The teams participating in the championship started the fight in their subgroups, after which the best 4 teams went to the semi-finals.
In the women’s competition, the Yerevan “Avan” team won the title of champion (Mary Poghosyan, Dianna Melkumyan), the second place was taken by the girls’ team of the “Van” club, the top three was completed by the Yerevan State University team.
Among the men, the main battle took place between the U20 team, FIMA-1, “Gyumri” and FIMA-3 teams. “Gyumri” and FIMA-3 teams competed with each other in the fight for the third place. Gyumri won 2:0. FIMA-1 and the Armenian U20 team competed in the men’s final. The Armenian under-20 team was declared the winner, ending the confrontation with a score of 2-1. Khachatur Asmaryan (BKMA) and Vahe Nazaryan (KHMOMM) participated in the winning team.
It should be noted that the athletes of the BCMA and KhMOMM teams have joined the U20 national team and are preparing for the European Under-20 Beach Volleyball Championship to be held in Turkey on July 12-17.
