jpnn.comJAKARTA – Chairman of the MPR RI Golkar Bambang Soesatyo attended the breaking of the fast together held by the Jakarta Sharing Love Foundation ‘Jakarta With Love’ in Jakarta, Thursday (22/3).
He appreciated the foundation’s consistency, which for 15 consecutive years has always held iftar together while providing assistance to 500 orphans.
As a form of realization of Hablum Minannas or improving harmonious human relations with humans in the midst of fasting which is part of Hablum Minallah (improving human relations with Allah).
“Compensation for orphans is not just a ceremonial event that makes them objects. It is a form of extending our love to those who are part of the nation’s next generation,” said the man familiarly known as Bamsoet.
The head of the 20th DPR RI explained that Ramadan is not just about suppressing hunger and thirst.
Rather, it trains and sharpens social sensitivity as well as a moment to share happiness with others, especially orphans.
So that solidity and strong solidarity can be established to produce harmony in the life of society, nation and state.
“UNICEF noted that there are at least 153 million orphans throughout the world, around 5.2 percent of whom live in foster care or orphanages. Meanwhile in Indonesia, the number of orphans is estimated at 106,000 children, living in 4,800 orphanages or child social welfare institutions ,” explained Bamsoet.
