Basra discusses security preparations to host the Iraq-Jordan match

The Supreme Security Committee held a meeting to follow up on security preparations in preparation⁤ for ‌hosting the match‍ between our Iraqi national team and ⁢its Jordanian counterpart, which will be held next Thursday within the decisive stage of the Asian ⁤qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

A statement by the Basra Governorate Council, received⁢ by the ⁤ (INA),⁢ stated that the‍ Chairman of the​ Supreme Security Committee, Governor of Basra, Asaad Abdul Amir⁢ Al-Eidani, ‍held a‍ meeting with the ‍leaders ‍of the security⁤ services at the local government headquarters⁣ to follow ⁢up on the ⁢ongoing preparations to host⁢ the match of our Iraqi national team with ​its Jordanian ⁤counterpart. ⁤It will be held next Thursday.

He ​added, “The ​leaders of the security services and the relevant authorities in the⁣ Sports City​ expressed ⁢their readiness to carry ⁤out their duty in the best way, according to the experience they gained during previous ⁣matches in the field of organizing the⁣ match for the entry of sports fans.”
He continued, “The Governor ‌of Basra directed during the meeting to allow fans’ vehicles to enter ‌the ⁢garages of the⁣ sports and light cities.”“.
