The Supreme Security Committee held a meeting to follow up on security preparations in preparation for hosting the match between our Iraqi national team and its Jordanian counterpart, which will be held next Thursday within the decisive stage of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
A statement by the Basra Governorate Council, received by the (INA), stated that the Chairman of the Supreme Security Committee, Governor of Basra, Asaad Abdul Amir Al-Eidani, held a meeting with the leaders of the security services at the local government headquarters to follow up on the ongoing preparations to host the match of our Iraqi national team with its Jordanian counterpart. It will be held next Thursday.
He added, “The leaders of the security services and the relevant authorities in the Sports City expressed their readiness to carry out their duty in the best way, according to the experience they gained during previous matches in the field of organizing the match for the entry of sports fans.”
He continued, “The Governor of Basra directed during the meeting to allow fans’ vehicles to enter the garages of the sports and light cities.”“.
