Bastrykin instructed to toughen the article of the Criminal Code in the case of beating a man in the subway

by time news

One of the most resonant crimes of the past Wednesday was the beating of a 25-year-old man in the capital’s subway by three people from Dagestan. On the stretch between the stations “Partizanskaya” and “Izmailovskaya” a verbal conflict between a passenger and three young people. The girl made a remark to them – the guys were talking loudly, laughing, being rude to others. And they were clearly tipsy.

The young people did not like the remark, and they directed all their anger at this girl.

Of all the passengers in the overcrowded subway car, only one man decided to intercede for the lady. But the thugs immediately attacked the 25-year-old man and began to brutally beat him. The video from the bloody subway car was actively “walked” on the Internet and messengers yesterday.

The defendant was hospitalized with serious injuries. The fighters were detained literally 10 minutes after the incident – they were taken when leaving the metro. At the same time, one of the guys tried to fight off the police with a knife.

The metropolitan police opened a criminal case against the detainees under the article “hooliganism”. All three were sent yesterday by a court decision to a pre-trial detention center.

Towards evening, the Investigative Committee of Russia decided to intervene in the situation. They considered the article on hooliganism too soft for an interpretation of the deed.

“Due to the fact that in the actions of the detainees, who inflict multiple punches and kicks in the area of the victim’s head, there are signs of a crime under the article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation” attempted murder from hooligan motives “- this is evidenced by the cynical and cruel actions of the attackers recorded on the video. – Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin instructed the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia to initiate a criminal case under this article. Svetlana Petrenko, official representative of the TFR.
