The progress of women in the country’s cricket is going on. Nigar Sultana Jyoti’s team is playing with power in the country or abroad. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has also decided to organize women’s cricket. Apart from playing, the highest governing body of cricket in the country is giving importance to women in match management.

Another feather has been added to the progress of women’s cricket in the history of the country. BCB is going to appoint two women as umpires for the first time. No woman umpire has been officially associated with BCB for a long time.

BCB finalized the appointment of two women umpires in the 10th board meeting on Saturday (March 9). A BCB director confirmed the matter after the RisingBDK board meeting.

Regarding the appointment of women umpires, the director said, ‘The appointment of two women umpires has been finalized in today’s meeting. We will make an official announcement in this regard soon.’

Sathira JC and Mishu Chowdhury are being appointed as umpires. Both have considerable experience in umpiring. Apart from this, Jesse has experience of umpiring in international tournaments.

BCB umpires committee is taking various steps to improve the quality of umpires. This is the first time that a woman umpire has been appointed. Currently there are 26 appointed umpires in BCB.
