US President Joe Biden intends to decide whether or not to participate in televised debates with his most likely rival in the upcoming November elections, Donald Trump, depending on the latter’s behavior.

As Day.Az reports with reference to TASS, the current American leader told reporters about this at the Andrews military base near Washington while flying to Philadelphia (Pennsylvania).

“It depends on his behavior,” Biden, a Democrat, said when asked to clarify whether he would debate Republican Trump. Recently, Trump actively challenged Biden to the pre-election televised debates. The White House declined to say whether the challenge would be accepted.

Currently, there is virtually no doubt that the Republican Party will nominate the previous head of the American administration, 77-year-old Trump, as its presidential candidate. The issue of the Democratic Party’s official nomination of Biden as its presidential candidate has actually been resolved. In fact, the emergence of some other figure as the Democratic candidate can only lead to a voluntary refusal by Biden, who is 81 years old, to continue the fight for re-election. However, until now he has categorically rejected the calls of a number of fellow party members to refuse to participate in the election race due to age and to give a chance to a new generation of political figures to come to the fore.

Pre-election televised debates of US presidential candidates are scheduled to begin in the fall. The first round will take place on September 16 in Texas, the second on October 1 in Virginia, and the third and final round on October 9 in Utah. In addition, on September 25, Pennsylvania will host debates between possible vice presidents of the country. The country’s presidential elections are scheduled for November 5.
