Bloomberg: Apple plans to release self-driving car in 2025

by time news

Apple plans to release its own self-driving car one to two years earlier than previously planned. Bloomberg reports this citing sources in the company. According to the publication, the corporation intends to complete the development and start production in 2025.

According to the agency, earlier this year, some Apple engineers planned to release the car in five to seven years, but now inside the company they are talking about the launch in 2025. It is noted that for such a period, testing an unmanned vehicle system is an “ambitious task”, and if it fails before the specified time, the company can either postpone production or start selling cars, but with simpler technologies. The ideal car would have no steering wheel or pedals.

Reuters previously reported that Apple is going to start producing self-driving cars in 2024. According to the agency, its development has been underway since 2014, we are talking about the Titan project.
