It has been alleged that BNP Joint Secretary General Advocate Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal was kept at the airport for a long time when he returned home from India after treatment.
Jahangir Howladar, Alal’s personal assistant, said that after he landed at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday (March 4) around 8:30 pm, he was kept in the immigration department.
Earlier, BNP Joint Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hussain Alal was allegedly prevented from going abroad for treatment.
It has been alleged that the immigration department of the airport withheld the necessary documents including the passport while leaving for India at around 11 o’clock last Thursday. Later, at 12:50 PM, he left Dhaka for Chennai, India on a Biman Bangladesh flight for treatment.
Jahangir Howladar said that Moazzem Hossain Alal has been suffering from kidney disease for a long time. Earlier he had surgery in Chennai, India. Was supposed to go to Chennai long ago for routine checkup. But he could not go because he was in prison for more than three and a half months. His body has deteriorated. He was stopped at the airport on his way to India with his wife Syeda Nasima Ferdowsi on Thursday after his release from prison. Today, when he returned home after treatment, he had to face another obstacle.
He also said that BNP Joint Secretary General Advocate Syed Moazzem Hossain has no obstacle to go abroad, despite the high court’s directives, he is being repeatedly obstructed. Earlier, he was detained at the airport for a long time even while going for an operation.
