Domestic chickens can be raised in cages to avoid the death of chicks from crows, hawks and vultures. In proper rearing more than 95 out of 100 chicks can be reared and sold. Mortality in the cage system is less than 4 percent. Feed and water can be provided in a hygienic manner. Chickens grow disease-free. Vaccination is also easy.

Vaccination against dysentery at 7th day and 8th week can help to keep them healthy without contracting the disease. It is easy to cut the unit of chickens when needed and remove external parasites. Consume less feed and gain more body weight. On average, one kilogram of body weight will be gained in three months if a concentrated fodder containing the necessary nutrients is given. It consumes 3 to 3.5 kg of feed to gain body weight.

Divide into four cages of 6 feet length and 4 feet width and keep 10 chickens in each cage until they reach one and a half kg body weight. 80 chickens can be reared from hatching to 5 months if the cage is similarly divided into 4 rooms by placing a wire net.

Cleaning is also easy as the residue falls into the bottom plate of the cage. Domestic chickens can be kept in 2 to 3 layers in a single cage. You can grow it in rural and urban areas without disturbing others and get good profit.
