Chennai Chief Minister Stalin Announces Boycott of Tea Party Organized by Governor R.N. Ravi on August 15

Chennai – In a bold move, Chief Minister Stalin of Tamil Nadu has announced that his government will boycott the tea party organized by Governor R.N. Ravi on August 15 at the Governor’s House. The decision serves as a strong condemnation of Gov. Ravi’s controversial stance on the NEET issue, which threatens the future of Tamil Nadu students.

In a statement released today, Chief Minister Stalin emphasized the importance of preserving the freedom that was won through the united struggle of the Indian people. As India celebrates its 77th Independence Day, he called for the tribute to all those who sacrificed for the country’s liberation by defending and cherishing the hard-fought freedom.

Addressing the recent tragic suicides of 17-year-old student Jagadeeswaran and his father Selvashekar, Chief Minister Stalin questioned whether the sacrifices made by their forefathers were meant for the privileged few or for the benefit of all. He highlighted the plight of Tamil Nadu students who have lost their lives due to the NEET system and the moral questions raised by these tragic deaths.

The Chief Minister expressed dismay over Governor Ravi’s adamant refusal to acknowledge the struggles faced by students from poor and middle-class backgrounds. Gov. Ravi’s controversial statement that he would never allow NEET exemption and would not sign the NEET Exemption Bill has shocked and angered Tamil Nadu’s student population. Chief Minister Stalin accused the governor of irresponsibly vilifying the anti-NEET protests that have been ongoing in the state for the past seven years.

To address the dire situation faced by Tamil Nadu students, the state government has passed a law seeking exemption from NEET and has sent it to the President for approval. Chief Minister Stalin confirmed that a letter requesting the President’s approval was sent on August 14.

Chief Minister Stalin also criticized Governor Ravi for his political rhetoric and accused him of undermining the education sector. He asserted that the future of Tamil Nadu students is of utmost importance and reaffirmed that the DMK party will always raise its voice for the welfare of the Tamil people.

In a final statement of condemnation, Chief Minister Stalin expressed his disdain for the governor’s actions, stating that they are detrimental to the universities and higher education sector. He accused Governor Ravi of obstructing bills passed by the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and of speaking in a manner that undermines the students, parents, and the future of Tamil Nadu.

As a symbolic act of protest, Chief Minister Stalin declared that his government will boycott the tea party organized by Governor R.N. Ravi at the Governor’s House on August 15. This move serves as a powerful denouncement of Gov. Ravi’s actions and his disregard for the concerns and aspirations of Tamil Nadu students.
