Thiruvananthapuram: Two children were vaccinated in Thiruvananthapuram. The Kovid Shield, a Kovid vaccine, was given in lieu of the 15 – year – old vaccine. The incident took place at Aryanad Community Health Center.
The children came to the health center for the vaccination to be taken at the age of 15. It is learned that the children went to the place where the Kovid vaccine was given instead of the place where the injection was given. Both were then injected with the Covshield vaccine. The children went home and told their parents. The parents then went to the hospital to investigate. Subsequent examination revealed that they had been injected with the Kovid vaccine.
Children are currently being monitored. It is learned that they do not have any other health problems. Officials say the vaccination was changed because the children had moved.
