Editor: Welcome to Time.news! Today, we have the pleasure of speaking with Veronika Nikishina, the Director General of the Russian Export Center. Veronika, thank you for joining us today.
Nikishina: Thank you for having me. It’s a pleasure to be here.
Editor: Let’s dive right in. You recently highlighted that China is a defender of fair and open markets. Can you elaborate on what you mean by this?
Nikishina: Certainly. China has positioned itself as a strong advocate for multilateralism and free trade, promoting an environment where diverse markets can thrive. This stance is crucial for global commerce, especially as many economies navigate challenges such as protectionism and isolationism.
Editor: That’s an interesting point. In your view, how does China’s approach impact Russian exporters specifically?
Nikishina: The China International Import Expo, for example, offers a unique platform for Russian producers. It allows us to showcase our products directly to Chinese buyers, which fosters not only trade relationships but also cultural exchange. This kind of access is invaluable for our exporters looking to penetrate the Chinese market.
Editor: Speaking of the China International Import Expo, what are some specific opportunities it presents for Russian companies?
Nikishina: This expo serves as a prime venue for networking and collaboration. Russian exporters get the chance to display a diverse range of products—from agriculture to technology. Furthermore, these interactions often lead to long-term partnerships that can contribute significantly to both our economies.
Editor: It sounds like a win-win situation. How can Russian exporters prepare to make the most of such opportunities?
Nikishina: Education and understanding of the Chinese market are vital. This means not only knowing our products but also recognizing consumer preferences and cultural nuances. We encourage exporters to engage in market research and collaborate with local partners to enhance their success.
Editor: As we transition to a more interconnected global market, what trends are you observing that might influence trade dynamics between Russia and China?
Nikishina: We’re seeing a steady increase in digitalization within trade. E-commerce is becoming increasingly significant, and we expect this trend to continue. Moreover, sectors like green technology and sustainable goods are gaining traction, indicating a shift toward more ethical trade practices.
Editor: Fascinating insights, Veronika. As a final thought, what message would you like to convey to Russian exporters looking to collaborate with China?
Nikishina: My message would be to embrace the opportunities presented by trade with China. The world is rapidly changing, and engaging with established markets like China can help Russian exporters innovate and stay competitive. Let’s work together toward a future of shared growth and success.
Editor: Thank you so much for your time and valuable insights, Veronika. It’s been a pleasure discussing these crucial topics with you.
Nikishina: Thank you for having me. It’s been great to share these ideas!
