The Government Purchase Committee has approved 2 separate proposals related to land acquisition and development for the completion of the Chittagong City Outer Ring Road (4th Revised) project and the establishment of a new campus of Jagannath University.

The proposals were approved in a committee meeting held on Thursday (February 29) under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali.

He said, the committee approved the purchase proposal for the completion of the Chittagong City Outer Ring Road (4th Revised) project. Bids were received from 3 organizations when tenders were invited through open tendering for procurement of works for a package of projects. 2 of them are technically responsive. Spectra Engineers Limited, the responsive lowest bidder recommended by TEC, will execute the project at the end of all tender processes. It will cost 411 crore 22 lakh 40 thousand 337 taka. Under the package, 1,819 meter flyover, 450 meter road, 500 meter viaduct, 260 meter retaining wall and 150 meter underpass will be constructed.

Apart from this, the procurement proposal for the completion of 5 packages of land acquisition and development project for setting up new campus of Jagannath University has been approved. Bids were received from 26 organizations when tenders were invited for the project through open tendering. 22 of them are technically responsive. At the end of the tender process, minimum 5 responsive bidders recommended by TEC will implement the project. It will cost 189 crore 57 lakh 61 thousand 140 taka.
