The United States and its Western allies have been warning about the possible spread of the war between Israel and Hamas in other countries in the Middle East. To prevent Hezbollah and its main financier, Iran, from entering the conflict, Washington has positioned two aircraft carriers in the Eastern Mediterranean. But, a few hours after the Hamas attack on Israeli territory, a first clash took place on the border between Lebanon and Israel.
