Riyadh: The Allied Forces have denied allegations made by Houthi militias that they are targeting a detention center in Yemen. Allied forces spokesman Brigadier General Turki al-Maliki said the propaganda about the detention center in Yemen’s Saada province was wrong.

He said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency on Saturday that he had been watching the media reports after the Houthis claimed that the Allied forces had targeted a detention center in Saada Governorate and that the allegations were false. He added that he takes such allegations seriously.

The Houthis claimed that innocent people were also killed at the detention center where the attack took place on Friday morning. However, a review of the Coalition’s internal system confirmed that the allegations were false. According to the system approved by the Office of the Humanitarian Coordination (OCHA), the alleged area is not a no-go zone. Brigadier General Turkey al-Maliki explained that the center was not in line with the report of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) or as applicable to the standards of international humanitarian law. He added that he would bring to light the facts about the alleged center of attack and the false propaganda of the Houthi media and inform the OCHA and ICRC of the truth.
