jpnn.comJAKARTA – PT Garudafood Putra Putri Jaya Tbk (Garudafood) together with the Pati Regency Environmental Service planted 1,000 mangrove seedlings on 20 hectares of land in nggulsari Village, Tayu District, Pati Regency, Central Java.

The activities carried out to commemorate Earth Day were attended by Garudafood Pati Business Unit Head Agustinus Winardi, Head of the Environmental Management Division of the Pati Regency Environmental Service Agus Setiaji, the mangrove activist group Muriya Urip, as well as various local figures and village officials.

This mangrove planting activity is one of Garudafood’s commitments in the aspect of environmental sustainability as an effort to restore biodiversity ecosystems, optimize carbon absorption and storage as well as a climate change mitigation strategy.

“As a company committed to the principles of sustainability, we support efforts to preserve the environment, one of which is through sustainable planting of mangrove seedlings,” said Agustinus Winardi in his statement, Thursday (25/4).

Steps like this not only provide short-term benefits, but also have long-term positive impacts on environmental sustainability and human well-being.

Agus Setiaji welcomed Garudafood’s concrete action to strive for nature conservation in the Pati coastal area in commemoration of Earth Day.

According to him, this mangrove planting activity is an example of collaboration and synergy between business actors (Garudafood) and the Government (Pati Environmental Service) which is good and inspiring, so that in the future it is hoped that more elements of society, both from the corporate sector and the community will care. and want to make a real contribution to environmental preservation and overcoming the impacts of climate change in Pati.

Mangrove trees are widely known to be able to reduce the rate of abrasion and soil erosion in coastal areas. Apart from having roots that are efficient in protecting the impact of soil erosion, mangroves can minimize the impact of tidal floods which are prone to hitting coastal areas such as in the Pati area, Central Java.

Garudafood commemorates Earth Day by planting 1,000 mangrove seedlings in nggulsari village. This is the goal.
